Marketplace went Undercover to Investigate Life Coaches

 

Many life coaches help clients work on things like mindfulness, goal setting,  boosting confidence and offer career and relationship advice.

Life coaches are not therapists and there is no organization regulating the industry. Anyone can call themselves a life coach even with no training.

Marketplace wanted to know if they’d cross the line and offer unqualified advice about mental illness. To investigate Marketplace producers created cover stories with the help of several experts and met with a number of life coaches.

What I learned:

The independent scientific method takes time and is a lot of work - it seems to reveal the best results.

Indivdual product test observations can be true for a very select set of times, places, test subjects, materials and not help you at all because your circumstances or metabolism may be totally different.

Greedy businesses will corrupt data, reviews, results etc etc to sell you a useless or dangerous product.

What I learned:

On math tests, Success Academy kids outperform every school in New York state.

LaMae de Jongh is Success Academy’s Chief Schooling Officer. Our black and Hispanic students outperformed their peers by double, triple percent in their math. By peers, you include the rich kids in the suburbs? Yes.

The chain wants to offer its magic to more kids, but they aren’t allowed to. New York limits the number of charter schools. When progressive democrats are in charge, they shut some charters down. The highest performing school in the state. 

The education establishment doesn’t want competition. Education advocates say charter schools are not the answer. 

Unlike many public schools  Success offers dance and other activities. It’s not schoolwork all the time. Chess, debate, theater, music.  Those aren’t add-ons,  those are part of our day.  

As a taxpayer the funding per student comparison was shocking - success at 17 K the public system at 35 K  - talk about getting more for less !!!

Cult followers have invested money, time, emotion and reputation. 

Cult followers may have sacrificed their family, friends, job, church and lifestyle to follow the manipulating devil. 

In their corrupted minds they can not give up all that they have done.

Basic appeals of logic, reason or humanity don't work with the controlled cult followers. 

You will need extra help to reach them and free them from their downward spiral.

Competing "cult leaders" from 2010 to ???? - Putin, Xi, .....

WW2 killed over 100 million

WW3 will kill over 1 billion

History shows that with 1 individual "cult leader" - the world looks and laughs

When the 1st "cult leader" builds an army the neighboring competing "cult leaders" use fear to gain power - "we have to protect ourselves".

When there are 3 or more "cooperating cult leaders" - the end result has always been war - check any real history.

Any "cult leader" that hates one or more particular group or says we have to protect ourselves by killing is working to corrupt and kill mankind.

Individuals, countries and all of mankind will suffer huge losses again by not learning from history.
