New Combat Medic Training proposal for Grade 3's

Beau of the Fifth Column The discussions of a southern journalist who is tired of a lack of common sense. Let's talk about Texas and training bill HB1147

What I learned - the schools in Texas are so unsafe that the bill HB1147 is an attempt to force students as young as 8 years old be trained as combat medics to be able to handle medical emergencies from mass school shootings.

I guess the national guard, homeland security, ATF, FBI, state police, municipal police and special school police are not enough to protect students in the semi-hardened schools - so the remedy is to have an army of 8 year olds trained to be combat medics to be able to save shot students that were not decapitated in mass school shootings.

I would not recommend Texas as a location for bringing up a family.

Belarusian Commander is warning his fellow countrymen

Belarusian Commander is warning his fellow countrymen

"Do not join this shameful war!"

Many of the comments seem to confirm that joining a war will cause deaths and destruction. Some below:

No one has summarised the death and destruction that has occurred in Ukraine and what can be expected to occur in Ukraine and Belarus so accurately as Mr Valery Sakhashchyk.

There is hope for Belarus with people like this. Let's hope that many people heard this speech and will take action to extricate themselves from Russia's demise and disgrace.

This man is 100% right in what he says, Belarus could do so much better without the Kremlin shackles holding it back , I do hope that the military chiefs of Belarus see sense

What an absolutely TO THE POINT speech .. every point was full of hope for the Belarusian -Ukrainian relationship of trust and friendship to continue blossoming towards a fruitful cooperation and friendship. Free from the aggressive posturing of the maniacal Russian forces and their leader President Putin .

What I learned - war is all bad - hate is all bad - lies cause war and hate.

The Big Cheat talks about the financial life of the Trump Family

David Cay Johnston: The Big Cheat - an inside look into the financials of the Trump family

Pulitzer Prize–winning reporter and dean of Trumpologists David Cay Johnston reveals years of eye-popping financial misdeeds by Donald Trump and his family. The Big Cheat talks about the financial life of the Trump Family in his new book.  How Donald Trump Fleeced America and Enriched Himself and His Family. This new book details the aspects of the Trump family's finances during the four years Donald Trump spent in office, leaving no details out, to give you the complete picture.

While the world watched Donald Trump’s presidency in horror or delight, few noticed that his lifelong grifting quietly continued. Less than forty minutes after taking the oath of office, Trump began turning the White House into a money machine for himself, his family, and his courtiers.

More than $1.7 billion flowed into Donald Trump’s bank accounts during his four years as president. Foreign governments rented out whole floors of his hotel five blocks from the White House while lobbyists conducted business in the hotel’s restaurants. Payday lenders and other trade groups moved their annual conventions to Trump golf resorts. And individual favor seekers joined his private Mar-a-Lago club with its $200,000 admission fee in hopes of getting a few minutes with the President. Despite earning more than $1 million every day he was in office, Trump left the White House as he arrived—hard up for cash. More than $400 million in debt comes due by 2024, and Trump still lacks the resources to pay it back.

“Few people are as well positioned to write an exposé of the former president as Johnston” (The Washington Post), and The Big Cheat offers a guided tour of how money flowed in and out of Trump’s hundreds of enterprises, showing in simple terms how a corrupt president used our government for his benefit, even putting national security at risk. Johnston details the four most recent years of the corruption that has defined the Trump family since 1885 and reveals the costs of Trump’s extravagant lifestyle for American taxpayers.
